The area of the Municipality of Tuoro sul Trasimeno…

…resembles a vast natural amphitheater. The ridge of hills that encircles the lake to the northwest is covered with oak trees and dark holm oaks. At higher altitudes, small pine groves emerge.

The underbrush, with its fragrant plants, is teeming with heathers and junipers. Along the slopes, broom gives way to olive groves and vineyards. In late spring, nature here bursts forth in all its colors.

From Monte Castelluccio, at the center of this arc, a ridge descends and stretches toward the plain and the lake, which sparkles in the background with its beautiful Isola Maggiore.

At the end of this long rocky spur stands our town, from where one can gaze over a wide valley carved by the Rio, Navaccia, and Macerone streams. Vernazzano, Piazzano, and Borghetto, which also permeate the local dialect, belong to us and are nestled in the Cortona area.
