Festa dell’Olio 2024: Event Program
On Friday, November 8, the festivities begin in the morning at 10:00 AM with a lesson at the olive mill, where we will guide schools on a visit to the mills, open to all. In the afternoon, starting at 7:00 PM, the food stands will open, with taverns run by local businesses offering delicious gastronomic specialties and entertainment in the historic center. Later in the evening, at 9:30 PM, join the Dance Parade with DJ Alex Santiago at Il Sodo Park, featuring a vibrant mix of disco and the new EVO cocktails bar service.
The Dinner in Ancient Rome
On Friday, August 9, at 8:30 PM, on the charming terrace of Rondò in Tuoro sul Trasimeno, you will have the chance to experience a journey back in time, 2000 years ago. The Historical Dinner, organized by the Pro Loco of Tuoro, is a true leap into the past with a Roman dinner based on the original recipes of Apicius and other ancient authors.
Tuoro 217 B.C.: Experience the Past with Reenactments, Shows, Food, and Music
Tuoro, 217 BC… The first light of day, the fog, the lake, and a rocky spur that creates a narrow pass inspire Hannibal, the commander of the Carthaginians, to set an ambush for the Roman legion that is on his trail. The Roman legion, noticing the signals deliberately left by Hannibal, falls into the trap: The tragic outcome will be over 15,000 deaths in less than 3 hours. The waters of Lake Trasimeno turn red. This battle would later be remembered as the **Battle of Lake Trasimeno**.
Ferragosto Toreggiano 2024: The Event Program
From July 30 to August 17, between the Lido di Tuoro beach, Il Sodo Park, and the Historic Center, the Ferragosto Toreggiano returns: theatrical events, animations, parades, reenactments, games, and tastings will bring to life the customs and traditions of both Roman and Carthaginian civilizations. A journey through time, during the period of the Punic Wars, will take visitors back to the year 217 BC, the year of the famous Battle of Lake Trasimeno, where Hannibal was the central figure.
