Campo del Sole: an architectural sculpture park (main itinerary)

Bike path

Groups welcome

The itinerary crosses through Punta Navaccia connecting the Trasimeno cycle path to Campo del Sole, an open-air museum.

Description

Starting from the introductory panel placed along the bike path, one proceeds straight to the Punta Navaccia pier area, following the sensory path and then leaving the large parking area on the right. The route leads to the grandiose caudate spiral composed of 27 column-sculptures that constitutes the Campo del Sole: an explanatory panel, placed a few steps from the boarding dock, explains the individual works in detail.

The path inside the Field of the Sun is followed by stepping over the triangular paving and walking on the pavement first flanked by seat-shaped works, then bordered by the columnar sculptures. The spiral is concluded, in the center, by a table-desco.

Retracing the spiral backwards, one returns to the explanatory panel: from there, one partly retraces the outward path and then proceeds along the lake, skirting the equipped green area. You thus return to the starting point of the itinerary.
